Bartholomew is growing in size, he is almost as big as Thyl. He eats like a hungry dog. We’re setting up the place so that the automatic feeders will work while we are not around. Unfortunately, we only have 2 and there wasn’t enough time to import one from the time we decided to go to Dubai so we’ll just have to make do. I don’t know yet if I’ll lock my bedroom door, it will be so inconvenient for Thyl to be around Thomas and Bartholomew all day for a few days. But the security cameras are set at specific angles and it will be easier for me to monitor all of the 3 cats if they are all in the living room (i.e. I’ll know if they’re eating, drinking and sleeping). The weather forecast doesn’t seem too good for this weekend, and I worry that Thyl’s anxiety will grow when there’s heavy rain. I will have to secure the cupboards because I don’t want her digging into things that might injure her or the other cats.
I’ve been trying to find out where to purchase the Meta sunglasses in Dubai. The ones online may not get to me on time, so I was able to find a walk-in / in-person store that stocks the classic green ones. Yes, I’ve decided to go for the shiny, classic green. I believe the matte black frame with black polarized lenses will be too dark for me to even see clearly, and I’m also not into the matte frame. There’s also the transition ones, that also come with matte black frame. The issue I have with the transition lenses is that I prefer the sunglasses to be dark all the time when I’m outdoors, I don’t want to look as though I wear eyeglasses because the look ages me. The shiny classic green version offers the best of both worlds – shiny frame which I think has a nice look to it, and the green lenses which isn’t as dark as the black ones but still dark to use outdoors. Besides, I think it will make more sense for me to use my phone whenever I’m indoors anyway, the positioning for photos and videos, as well as the resolution is just better using the iPhone.
I also want to purchase a mod, I have Uwell’s Caliburn G3 Pro in mind at the moment, some replacement pods and also a few nicotine-free vape juices. I don’t think I’ll be able to get it on the same day because they do this ‘next day delivery’ thing, so I guess I’ll go a day without vaping because I don’t really want to take my current vape to Dubai.
My mother decided to join us after all. It’s a bit of a funny story actually. When my sister and I were at my mother’s place a few days ago, I told my sister to “ask” my mother if she would like to join us in Dubai. Instead of asking my mother however, my sister told her “we already bought your ticket”, thinking it would be a more exciting way of inviting my mother. When my mother initially refused, we then had to pretend that we’d be cancelling her ticket. The lie had already snowballed, lol. So the following day, I had to continue the lie and react the way I would normally react, had I actually purchased her ticket. So I sent her a message on Messenger, asking “so you’re sure you don’t want to join us right?” and she replies with a “no.” I closed my Messenger right after her response. About an hour or so later, she sent me a message on Whatsapp, saying “think will go” and I replied with an “lol” and “ok.” I didn’t even try to sway her response, she just almost immediately confirmed that she wanted to go, so I purchased her ticket, booked her hotel room and so she’ll be joining us.
I don’t really know why my mother doesn’t like Dubai. I’ve heard her tell about 2 people already, and I wonder if it’s because of the experience she had with me. The very first time I went to Dubai, I took her with me. It was a business trip, and our objective was to find items that we might be able to sell here in Seychelles. So it wasn’t really a plan for us to go sightseeing anyway. I had asked her if she wanted to go to the World Expo (we got free tickets from booking with Emirates) and she kept pushing it until we didn’t have time to check it out anymore. I also wanted to go around the country by subway but she seems to hate subways. She wanted to go around by taxi, but I hate taxis. Taxis are always way overpriced and I hate the power that the driver, i.e. a complete stranger has on me. I don’t trust taxi drivers, they always seem unsafe to be around.
