My twin sister and I have been on the fence about traveling to Dubai this month for our birthday. Firstly, I don’t feel like I have the energy or the interest to even travel. Secondly, Bartholemew is still a kitten, I don’t know how comfortable I would be just leaving him here for a few days. He would probably be okay with the automatic feeder, but he is still a curious young lad so I don’t know if he would behave just like the other cats or if he would misbehave. Thirdly, is it worth the money? It’s a millennial dilemma, to want to save for a rainy day and live for today all at the same time. We really want to start retail business #2 this year, but we are back on the drawing board with the planning of it.
Now that I have 2 cats but I still feed & clean up after Thomas (my sister’s cat) my morning routine feels as though it has doubled. When I get up the first thing I have to do is feed them and they all eat different types of food! So I have to prepare 3 types of food: Bartholemew is on a mix of wet & dry kitten food, Thomas is on a diet so I have to half his wet food (but he’s the easiest to feed because he is not a picky eater at all), and then there’s Thylvethter who refuses to eat anything but tuna. I found a particular cat food that uses tuna as their main ingredient and then they put in fish oil and taurine, they also throw in some beef to the mix. That’s the only cat food she eats. I then feed her dry food on alternating days, she only eats a specific brand of it, and only a small quantity each time. But I’m trying to keep her healthy so that’s what she gets every other day. To be able to find good cat food here in Seychelles is like trying to locate a unicorn! Bartholomew is growing bigger, it’s just too cute. Yesterday I fed him more than I usually do, and he went into some kind of food coma. He’s developing good habits, as he likes to watch Thyl so he just copies her. He’s such a kind kitten.
This past Sunday my sister and I organized a gathering for the family. My elder sister and her family were leaving Seychelles the following day so we thought we’d do something to get the family together. Everyone we invited attended: my mother, my older brother and his family, my older sister and her family, my younger brother and his girlfriend, and my uncle. We catered Thai food and because none of it was vegan, I prepared my own meal which was tofu strands vegetables, and Chinese cabbage – kind of like a Chinese dish. The catering, drinks, dessert and other miscellaneous items cost us around or a little over SCR 4k (approx US$250+), which would still be cheaper than a restaurant but the next time we treat them to something we’ll probably just do a restaurant. We don’t really know if the food was enough, but let’s just say everything finished. We actually held it at my mother’s place because it’s bigger than my apartment, but we actually do want to invite my older sister to the apartment next time because she’s never visited us, so she doesn’t know where we live and what it’s like living in a small apartment in the town area, lol.
This apartment is terribly small. It was all quite perfect when we first moved in because we moved in with barely anything. But now we have all kinds of things, especially in the kitchen so there’s quite a bit of clutter. We want to do something about it, but we can’t just throw away appliances that we use. The best way forward would be to either move to a bigger apartment or house, or just try to make do with this one and probably buy some kind of cupboard for storage.
This week E1 is on annual leave so E2 is the only one at the store. It’s a whole lot ‘calmer’ so she’s probably bored out of her mind.
