Spent yesterday evening with my family, to visit my older sister’s new place. We had a potluck dinner and I’m glad that everything I brought was consumed. We were all hanging out and someone mentioned the upcoming US elections and their being “republican”. All of a sudden I hear others chiming in that they too, were pro-Trump. One can only imagine my surprise to hear this because my siblings and I get along so well, but we do constantly talk about how different we are because of our generation – my mother being a boomer, my older sister is GenX, my older brother is an older millennial, I’m an older millennial and my younger brother is a younger millennial, while my nephew and nieces are GenZ and Alpha Gen respectively. But as I explore this further in my mind, it really isn’t surprising. I guess I just never really thought about all this, in relation to US politics. They do have conservative views in a lot of things, so it should have been very obvious to me, in the same way that it should not be surprising to them that I hold very liberal democratic views on many things.

It’s Sunday, so it’s a working day for me. I also have to review as many Tagalog words as possible for my online class tomorrow morning.
