The holiday is about to come to a close here in Maldives, I still have phlegm in my chest so I’ll try to drink more fluids today. I don’t really know why I struggle so much with drinking fluids. Yesterday my sister and I went to Aroma cafe for brunch, and then we cycled that manual boat thing. It was the first interesting thing we did outside of eating. We then skipped lunch and had dinner at Breeze, we wanted to try their fishless “fish” fritters which was alright. I expected it to be more like the tempeh thing we had a few months ago at Niyama but it was more like a fish ball curry in the shape of a flattened chili cake. It was alright.
Right before we went for the dinner last night our employee submits her resignation letter with 7 days notice. I don’t even know what brought this on, we did take SCR 25 from her salary last month because she lost the money and didn’t know how she lost it. What was I supposed to do, deduct the money from my business bank account? I would assume that she’s aware if she loses the money they the amount is deducted from her salary. I remember even telling my sister that as soon as she sees this deduction in her payslip she will go absolutely berserk. They don’t care about taking minutes off “company time” just like today when she was 2 minutes later, and the past few days she’s been taking minutes off but the second we deduct a single rupee from her salary, we’re the employees from hell.
I’m bugged out that I now have to spend next week either training someone new or working at the store. We’re coming close to our last few local hires. Quite frankly I just can’t trust locals anymore. They’re unreliable and I’m tired of training people.
