The internet has been extremely slow this evening, I was streaming Will & Grace S11E14 and it just won’t run so I had to find something else to do.

My sister called SRC earlier today to ask them if my TIN is ready and they said they’d check and call back. They didn’t call back. This is how inefficient things are in this country. Pretty sure it’s been 2 weeks already. I can’t bill my clients without my TIN. We’re going to try to sort this out tomorrow.

There’s something so weird happening in this country. A while back there was some kind of gas smell at Perseverance, so they had to shut down the school temporarily. A few days later kids were getting sick at Beau Vallon school and they’re saying it’s the same “gas” thing. The following day kids were getting sick at Anse Etoile school, which is in the north east region of the country. The weekend came and went, and first thing Monday morning, another school reported students getting sick and vomiting. So that was yesterday. Today, it was yet another school closer to Victoria.

Today’s lunch was spaghetti and meat balls – popcorn chick’n to be exact. This meal is easily over 200 calories because I added canola oil to the pasta sauce for that omega 3 goodness. I’ve been struggling to get out of 50.xx Kgs so I decided to take a bit of a break today and went to get some snacks. I didn’t end up eating the Oreos, I guess I’ll save that for another day. But I did munch up the Ginger Nuts!

I’m considering going to Hong Kong for a 1-year Buddhist Studies course. It’s definitely not something I want to pursue this year, but perhaps next year or the year after that? The issue is that if I want to go next year, I will have to apply end of this year, and I have plans and responsibilities here that I currently prioritize. But I love that I have found that as a possibility, I believe it will further enrich my life and develop my way of thinking, positively contribute to the direction of my thoughts and my life. I sent the place an email, asking them if they provide accommodation on campus and unfortunately they do not. They do however work with a company that assists students in finding affordable accommodation. As someone who would be considered a “mature” student, I would definitely prefer off-campus accommodation. It’s more private, and there’s a certain freedom that is taken away from you when you live on campus. Another question I asked, is if it’s legal for students to have a part-time job in Hong Kong to assist with paying the bills. The person said it is absolutely legal to work in Hong Kong as a student, as long as you have written permission from your educational institution. I guess I’ll have to start finding ways to fund that 1-year Buddhism retreat!
